Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met today with the President of the Democratic Party of Cyprus, Nikolas Papadopoulos, at Maximos Mansion.
The Prime Minister pointed out Greece’s unwavering interest in Cyprus and the Cyprus issue, in view of the informal quinquepartite meeting which will take place in Geneva at the end of April.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed that the framework for the resolution of the Cyprus issue, which is binding for all sides, is stipulated in the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council for a bizonal, bicommunal federation.
The Prime Minister reiterated Greece’s steadfast position that the termination of the anachronistic system of guarantees and the full withdrawal of the occupation forces from Cyprus are necessary for the resolution of the Cyprus issue.
