Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a call today with the new Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett. The Prime Minister congratulated Mr Bennett on the formation of his government and the assumption of his duties, wishing him luck.
The two leaders acknowledged the strategic character of the relations between the two countries and expressed their intention to maintain their close cooperation, both bilaterally and trilaterally –with the participation of the Republic of Cyprus– as well as at the regional level.
They also underscored their common will to strengthen cooperation, while also pointing to the major steps that have already been taken in crucial sectors, such as energy, defense and technology. They also discussed the management of the pandemic.
Mr Mitsotakis invited Mr Bennett to Athens. The two leaders agreed that they will look for suitable dates for this visit to take place.
