Prime Minister Kyriakos met this afternoon with the Prime Minister of Italy, Mario Draghi, on the sidelines of the EUMED Summit in Athens.
The two leaders confirmed the exceptional level of the bilateral relationship and discussed the prospect of further deepening greco-italian cooperation, both at the bilateral as well as the regional level, with a focus on economic cooperation.
The two leaders also discussed the challenges that concern the Mediterranean region, including migration.
The Prime Minister and his Italian counterpart talked extensively about environmental issues, climate change and its repercussions on the Mediterranean, as well as cooperation between the two countries in this field.
They also discussed the course of the pandemic and of the vaccination campaigns.
