Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Prime Minister expressed Greece’s full support towards Ukraine in these truly difficult times. He reiterated that, from the beginning, Greece was in favor of the harsher EU sanctions against Russia. He said that he stands ready to provide assistance to Ukraine in sectors where it will be requested and that the Greek Consulates General in Odessa and Mariupol continue to operate.
The President of Ukraine thanked Kyriakos Mitsotakis for Greece and the Prime Minister’s unequivocal stance, backing his country from the start. He called for support to continue in the framework of the European Union.
The Greek Ministry of Health is dispatching medical supplies to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Prime Minister met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias at Maximos Mansion.
