Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met this morning, in Maximos Mansion, with the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, who is once again in Athens heading a business delegation involving the largest investment funds and important companies in his country.
The Prime Minister assured his interlocutor about the strategic character that Greece attaches to its relations with the United Arab Emirates and noted the commitment of the government to take full advantage of the mutually beneficial opportunities offered by closer cooperation with the UAE.
“So good to have you in Athens again, after what was a very successful visit to Abu Dhabi. You know how much emphasis we place on this bilateral relationship, which has both a strategic and an economic component. And I understand you’ve already had and you will have very interesting discussions to further our economic cooperation agenda”, stressed the Prime Minister.
“Our President puts very special emphasis on the very special relationship he has with your great country and with you personally. He has a great deal of admiration and respect for your leadership, for your government and for the achievements you have been able to demonstrate over the past few years”, noted the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber.
During the meeting, the two parties confirmed the multilevel strategic cooperation of the two countries and they discussed the prospects for further strengthening of bilateral economic- investment relations in various sectors, such as energy with emphasis on renewables and hydrogen, industry and high technology, innovation, start-ups, infrastructure, aviation, shipping and tourism.
The meeting was attended, from the Greek side, by the Minister of Development and Investments Adonis Georgiadis, the Minister of State Akis Skertsos, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness Konstantinos Fragogiannis, the Secretary General for International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Smyrlis, the Director of the Prime Minister’s Diplomatic Office Anna-Maria Boura, the Head of the Prime Minister’s Financial Office Alexis Patelis and the Chief Energy Adviser to the Prime Minister Nikos Tsafos.
