During their meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations of the two countries, which are at an excellent level and they examined ways to further strengthen the Hellenic-American cooperation, which has already been upgraded during the last three years.
The importance of the Prime Minister’s recent visit to the US was stressed, as well as the importance of his speech at a Joint Session of the House of Representatives and the Senate, in Congress. Kyriakos Mitsotakis: It’s great to see you so soon after our meeting in Washington.
Gregory Meeks: I am delighted to be here with you, as well as just to say, I was so pleased with your visit to the United States at a crucial time and your address to the United States Congress. I’ve been in Congress for 24 years, and the message that you delivered on that day was so important, given the time in which we’re currently living in and the relationship between the United States and Greece in dealing with democracy, which is on the line, unfortunately, in this year of 2022, was so tremendously important.
So thank you for receiving us and thank you for delivering the message to the members of Congress just a short while ago.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis: Let me also recognize the great work that your Ambassador is already doing in Greece. Seems as if he has been here for years. Seems he has fit in very well, which is no surprise to us.
Gregory Meeks: Technically he really has been here for years.
