Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met, on Friday, with the President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari and the President of Senegal Macky Sall, in the context of his contacts during the High-Level Week of the 77th UN General Assembly, in New York.
During the meetings, they discussed issues of common interest, such as the safety of navigation, the cooperation in the fight against piracy, while they reviewed bilateral relations and international developments in Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Sahel region.
The good level of relations with the two countries and the important prospects for their further strengthening and development were also noted.
The Prime Minister pointed out Greece’s increased interest in western and sub-Saharan Africa, which is also reflected in the opening of a Greek Embassy in Dakar, Senegal.
