Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Group Margherita Della Valle

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with the Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Group Margherita Della Valle, at Maximos Mansion. During the meeting, they discussed the important investments that the company is launching in Greece and the possibilities for further cooperation.

“I am really happy that you have an opportunity to visit us. I am very much interested in finding out more about the investments you are about to make in Greece, which are very significant from what I see in the notes and what we’ve discussed already. You know that we have invested heavily in our digital transition, and we are aware that there are also significant funds from the RRF directed also in projects in which you are involved. But of course, there’s more we can do, and we cannot do those things that we want to do without the big telecommunications companies on board. So very happy to meet you and excited about what you will be doing and investing in Greece”, stressed the Prime Minister at the beginning of the meeting.

“This is the first visit I do as CEO to a country that is not the UK, where we have our headquarters, or Germany, which is our biggest market. And I’ve chosen to come to Greece because I think there is a very interesting conversation to be had. And I wanted to share with you how we look at the investment perspective in this country”, noted Ms Della Valle.

During the meeting, the company’s investment plan in Greece, which will amount to €1 billion over the next 5 years, was presented, while the initiatives undertaken by the government regarding the frequency spectrum for the 5G network and the broader digital transformation of the economy were discussed.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou, the Minister of State Stavros Papastavrou, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Ioannis Bratakos, the CEO of Europe Cluster at Vodafone Group Serpil Timuray and the President and CEO of Vodafone Greece Haris Broumidis.
