Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met in Doha with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The Prime Minister and the Emir of Qatar reaffirmed their mutual will to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the economy and in areas such as tourism and culture.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the positive prospects of the Greek economy after the recovery of the investment grade and stressed that Greece presents great investment opportunities, especially in energy, tourism and the agri-food sector. It was agreed that there will be a business mission to Athens soon to explore possibilities of cooperation.
The Prime Minister extended an invitation to the Emir of Qatar to visit Athens, which Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani accepted.
During the meeting, they discussed the situation in Gaza and the latest developments in the Middle East.
The Prime Minister underlined the important mediating role of Qatar regarding the release of hostages and peace in the region, while the Emir of Qatar expressed his appreciation for Greece’s initiatives and role in the region.
