Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met today with the Prime Minister of Romania, Marcel Ciolacu, at the headquarters of the Romanian government.
During the meeting, they discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, with an emphasis on energy and interconnectivity.
The Prime Minister reiterated Greece’s role as a provider of energy security, both through the vertical energy corridor and through the FSRU off Alexandroupolis, a project of great importance for energy security and diversification of supply sources.
They also discussed the next steps concerning the projects of common interest of the trilateral cooperation scheme with the participation of Bulgaria, as well as issues of regional and European interest.
The Prime Minister then met with the President of the Senate of Romania, Nicolae Ciucă, on the sidelines of the European People’s Party Congress in Bucharest.
On Wednesday evening, the Prime Minister had a private meeting with the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, at the Cotroceni Palace.
