Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ meeting with the President of the European Court of Auditors Tony Murphy

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with the President of the European Court of Auditors, Tony Murphy, at Maximos Mansion.

During the meeting, they reviewed the resources drawn so far from the Recovery and Resilience Fund, while it was noted that Greece is one of the EU countries that have effectively used the grants and loans allocated to it, while putting in place effective safeguards to avoid failures.

There was also an exchange of views on the next seven-year budget of the European Union, given the significant investment needs of the European economy, the changes in the geopolitical environment and the need to increase European defence spending.

Moreover, they stressed the importance of the work of the European Court of Auditors, not only for the proper allocation of European funds but also for the development of best practices in the design of EU funding programmes.
