Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met today with the Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, in Stockholm.
During the meeting, they discussed the prospects for strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of economy and defence, as well as issues of European interest.
The two leaders discussed at length Greece’s initiatives on issues related to the protection of minors from digital addiction. The Prime Minister referred in particular to “Kids Wallet”, while the possibilities for joint European action in this area were discussed.
They also exchanged views on the AI landscape and Europe. Kyriakos Mitsotakis underlined the need to find the right balance between innovation, technology development and the regulatory framework for platforms and technology companies.
The two Prime Ministers also discussed the issues of the competitiveness of the European economy and collective European defence.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed that the initiatives being implemented to strengthen European defence are important, but underlined that additional funding is needed for the implementation of initiatives of common European interest, in the direction of the Draghi report. Finally, issues relating to the next Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union were discussed.
