Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a telephone conversation with the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas.
During their telephone conversation, they discussed the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank.
The Prime Minister expressed his deep concern about the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and stressed that any extension of hostilities is unacceptable. Furthermore, he conveyed Greece’s position on the need for unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid, an immediate ceasefire, and the unconditional release of all hostages.
He also stressed the need to restart the political process aimed at achieving a two-state solution, with both states coexisting peacefully and securely.
The Prime Minister reiterated Greece’s support for the Palestinian Authority as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, as well as Greece’s readiness to undertake further humanitarian initiatives.
