
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Kabal Madbouly, the President of Sierra Leone Dr Julius Maada Bio, and the President of Yemen Rashad Al-Alimi.
During the meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, they discussed boosting energy cooperation between the two countries by making the most of vertical interconnection possibilities.
The Prime Minister welcomed the recent agreement with Armenia, which he described as a positive development for peace in the region.
During the meeting with the Prime Minister of Egypt, the strategic relationship between the two countries and the importance of cooperation in the field of migration were discussed. The issue of the agreement on the Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine of Sinai was also discussed.
During the meeting with the President of Sierra Leone, they discussed cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the UN Security Council.
During his meeting with the President of Yemen Rashad Al-Alimi, the Prime Minister expressed his support for the government and stressed the importance of freedom of navigation.
