Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ telephone conversations with the President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun and the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had telephone conversations a short while ago with the President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun and the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu.

During the telephone conversations, the Prime Minister was briefed on the latest developments in Lebanon.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis acknowledged Israel’s right to self-defense, but stressed the need to avoid further escalation and opening a new front through extensive ground operations in southern Lebanon.

During the telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Israel, the unprovoked attack against the Republic of Cyprus and the defensive support provided by Greece were also discussed.
