Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met in Abu Dhabi with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed regional developments and reviewed their excellent bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister condemned Iran’s attacks against the United Arab Emirates and reiterated Greece’s solidarity, as well as its stance on the need to find a diplomatic solution that will lead to sustainable peace and to stability and security in the region.
The President of the United Arab Emirates thanked the Prime Minister for Greece’s support.
The discussion also addressed the common interest in freedom of navigation, as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as an essential prerequisite for international peace, supply chains, and economic prosperity.
The two leaders also reaffirmed the depth of the strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries in a range of areas, with a focus on the economy and investment.
During the Prime Minister’s visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation between Greece and the United Arab Emirates was signed in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Technology.
